Such a tiring day. Managerial Econs test wasnt too bad. 80% of the qns were from the practice test. He didnt even bother changing the order of the choices or figures or even names of the people in the qn. Well good and bad for me, I was trying to rem the ans rather than actually trying to work it out. For many of the qns, it was just like "Yup that's A, that's B, etc", didnt even need to calculate or read much. I was secretly laughing when I saw the qns, haha...But I really did attempt to read and understand the qns. At least I know I will pass. Econs really isnt too bad now that I studied for it. Much better than Acc. I got so lost again during lect. Tute wasnt much better. Each time I thought I got the hang of it, it got harder again. What GST payable, what GST receivable, what GST clearing, what adjusted trial balance, what profit?? Why do I need to know all these?? Driving me nuts!! Dont have time to let the info. settle down in brain. The week's passing too quickly, before you know it, it's going to be mid-sem break and exams and home. Sigh. I need to take a breather.
Closing ceremony of Olympics today. So fast Olympics over in another few hours, have to wait another 4 yrs. 4 yrs ago was still in 2nd yr uni, struggling thru all those placements and never ending essays, still staying at Docklands where we could hop over to Crown for a movie anytime. Where would I be 4 yrs later? What would I be doing 4 yrs later? Scary thoughts. Anyway hsemate asked me to note the name "Thomas Daley" down and check him out during the next Olympics diving. He's 14 this year. A lot more chances to check out his progress in future games.
Hmm..nothing much to update except that our BS grp finally had our first social for the year yest. Steamboat. Ate so much plus dessert. Highlight for the dinner must be playing the number game to finish up left over food. I am very bad at this game, or I must say unlucky, always lose when it comes to my turn. Luckily yest someone else took over my role and lost 5 times, haha! Thank you and good job!
I feel like slacking. Too much work to be done. Escapism.
We realised the segregation of gender begins from a young age in Lygon St. CoC. The girls and boys in Sun Sch have an invisible line down the middle of the room. They dont mix. It's funny how it turned out to be like that. And even in BS now, it's always girls sitting together and guys on the other side. Haha. Yup interesting thing we found out when we did our Sun Sch singing this morning. -- Congrats Spore on winning Silver medal in table tennis! First ever medal since the independence of Spore. The previous medal was in 1960. It was funny how the commentator kept repeating that fact. Not sure if it was a genuine comment or just for a little laugh amongst themselves. Spore's top player was from China, ironically Beijing. Oh well, they are all Singaporeans now. Well done!! -- Another week starting again. Sigh. Cant wait for weekends to come again.
Missed blogging on the 08.08.08, which happens only once in a life time. It's the opening of Olympics too. So far been watching swimming only. The only good time for me. Watch during lunch time before heading off to uni. Learnt the new big names of the pool - Michael Phelps, Leisel Jones, etc. Their speed in the pool was wow, seriously fast. Yup Olympics, must be fast of coz. They finish 2 laps, I am prob only half way thru. I rem joining swimming competition (cant rem what sort of competition, but still joined for 2 or 3 yrs anyway, lol) in pri sch and my personal best was 48 sec for freestyle. I thought it was so fast during that time, hahaha. Nope, of coz didnt win anything, just joined for the fun of it. Anyway can see the proud looks on their faces when receiving the medals. The huge smiles from themselves and their families.
Looking forward to track. The 2 sports which make me excited. Prob because those 2 were my best sports many yrs ago, haha. I did win lots of medals for track at least, heh. I do miss my more sporty days, I am just so lazy now.
One of the reasons for liking those sports is because of the milo truck, hahaha!! -- Celebrated the annual NDP at our place again last Sat. It really felt like couple of months we celebrated last yr's NDP. We are really ageing. -- Uni is bad, so much things to be done. I am confused for all 4 subjects. Have to do weekly tute work for 3 out of the 4 subjects, so got to be very hardworking this sem already.
A night in darkness is not exactly a very good feeling. Was cooking halfway yest and suddenly there was a loud "pop" and the lights went off. My heart thumped so fast I thought it might jumped out. Didnt know what happened, tried to turn on the main switch and everything but still cant work. In the end had to finish cooking in the dark. Shake had to hold the torch for me, while bro still staring at the power board trying to figure smthing out, feeling very hopeful that electricity will come back. All this time Yanyan was still in the gym. Anyway we had candle-light or rather tea-light dinner. It was so difficult eating in the dark, requires a lot of skills and eye power. We tried to finish the newly bought yogurt, but of coz didnt manage to finish it. After that even planned on finishing the milk. Nope, we decided not to be silly. Since we cant do anything in the dark except to cook, we made of joke of cooking all the meat in the freezer and eat again. Yup we were that bored. Shake studied a bit in the dark, using the light from the tea-lights, I tried reading with torchlight. Gave up after a while. Yanyan and my bro went over Esther's place for light, I mean study/use internet/shower leaving me and Shake at home. But not bad, time passed quite quickly. At first I really didnt know what to do after dinner, suddenly seemed like life is meaningless. Yes it was till that extend. Shows how evil internet and laptop can be. My life was greatly disrupted. It really was a bad experience!
Called up agent this morning to try asking for an electrician to drop by. Transferred me to another line, first time was ok, but when I called a second time, I had to wait for 5 mins before talking to someone. In the end I got a impatient lady, spoilt my day. So irritated. They didnt send anyone down. Had to make so many calls before electrician finally came much later in the day. Anyway life's better now...with lights.
This morning I moved the wok away from the stove and found half-melted wire. It must be my fault lah, careless me did not realise the rice cooker's wire was on the stove and continued cooking. That must had caused the loud "pop". Sorry housemates, let you all suffer in the dark!
2nd wk of uni, so many things to do and I am so confused with the tasks. Really have to catch up on readings and everything. Argh!!
My life is an open book.
Loves God, family n friends.
I thank God for his grace shown to me all these years, placing great friends in my life =)
