First week uni over. Slack and rather scary week. All intro lectures, as usual some are totally boring, some alright. Accounting is one of the toughest ones I think. Wouldnt hope for smooth sailing for the subject, but just hope that I can understand it enough to stay alive, haha. Luckily no tutes today, if not it would be 7 hrs straight. I will suffer next week, but least I have 2 days off. I have coursemates to suffer together with me, so that's not too bad.
I saw the rainbow today. Where's the pot of gold?
Watched Mamma Mia. Enjoyed it a lot. Movie's funny and the songs are really gd. I think I am in the musical phase now, cant stop listening to all the songs, heh =)
Such a feelin's comin' over me There is wonder in most everything I see Not a cloud in the sky Got the sun in my eyes And I won't be surprised if it's a dream
Everything I want the world to be Is now coming true especially for me And the reason is clear It's because you are here You're the nearest thing to heaven that I've seen
(*) Im on the top of the world lookin' down on creation And the only explanation I can find Is the love that I've found ever since you've been around Your love's put me at the top of the world
Something in the wind has learned my name And it's tellin' me that things are not the same In the leaves on the trees and the touch of the breeze There's a pleasin' sense of happiness for me
There is only one wish on my mind When this day is through I hope that I will find That tomorrow will be just the same for you and me All I need will be mine if you are here
-- What happens when Barbs is arnd? That's right, sing, haha.
Watched 2 musical movies, High Sch. Musical and Sound of Music. The songs from both shows are nice. "My favourite things" song from Sound of Music been playing continuously for the whole night since I finished the show. Will listen till I am sick of the song, haha. So far still ok. Wonders if my laptop will completely crash after this, lol. There are still so many other songs I like. The movie's nice too. It funny to know that even the youngest child who was abt 5 in the show is nearing 50 now. Holidays coming to an end, I will miss it dearly =(
Had such a fulfilling holiday!! Loving every bit of it. Ski and Syd trips are so good! Skiing is really fun, but scary at the same time. All of us are aching all over. My neck, shoulder, triceps are so sore. Have a big patch of bruise on my leg and a bump somewhere too. But it was still worthed it. Wanted to try snowboarding, coz HM said it was much better than ski. Luckily I didnt. Kenchin and my bro tried snowboarding for the first day and they kept falling. I am glad I did ski instead. First time standing in the snow and feeling snow falling on our heads. It's actually not a very gd feeling when you are going downhill. Imagine the snow hitting on your face and the wind blowing. It is actually very painful and cold. Many times, I cant feel my fingers, kept wondering if I would get frostbite, haha..On the first day, our exposed part of our hair, scarf, fur on jackets were frozen, can see them freeze up. It was better on the second day, not as frozen. But the visibility was very bad. It was so foggy, cant see anything 10 metres in front and it was much chillier. I love the chair lifts, can see ppl skiing below our feet. When it went up higher, it looked as if we are entering heaven, coz cant see the top, haha. The thing I dont like abt chair lift is at the end of it, you must be prepared to move off very quickly before the next one comes in. Fell down a few times while getting off the lift. Skiing is a sport of tumbling. Can understand how Jack and Jill feels now. Ok not really tumbling, but falling. Must not be afraid to fall i guess. Pick ourselves up from wherever we fall, haha. Ok dont feel like typing anymore. I will miss this holiday a lot!! Next yr's holiday plans, Brisbane/ Gold Coast and Ski (as if I have a lot of money...)
Falls Creek (18th - 20th Jul) View 1 from our apt room.
View 2 from our apt room.
Getting our ski boots on. So hard to walk and that's what caused our bruises.
Chicken rice for dinner.
Photo before going off on 2nd morning. Everyone except Sharman and Esther.
It's me, but cant tell from all the goggles and scarf, haha.
It's supposed to be a lake at the back. Always short of 2 ppl. Think is my bro and Jiawei.
Haha, things you do while waiting for the rest to reach the bottom.
Snow, snow, snow...cold.
Yah No.1 shld be in the pic beside No.3. Too bad she is not there.
Steamboat for 2nd night dinner and we had fondue too, yums.
(pics from Kenchin, the only one who brought cam along to ski)
This post will be a recap (and a reminder for me) of what we did in Syd, so will be a super long post. Had a really enjoyable time in Syd. and company was great, so must jot it down and share with others, haha..
Day 1 (Thur) Left Melb last Thur and drove 2 cars towards Syd. Stayed a night at Sapphire Coast, somewhere in NSW. Reached there abt 8+ and tried to find a place to have dinner. Went to a Chinese restaurant next to our accommodation. The Chinese restaurant only has Caucasian waitresses and customers. So quiet in the restaurant that we had to keep whispering. Haha. Anyway the place where we stayed - South Sea, is a very nice place. It's double-storey with a little porch where you can sit there with a cup of tea and a book. That's what I did when they left for breakfast without me =( Haha, dont make them sound bad, I chose to stay behind.
Day 2 (Fri) After Sapphire Coast, drove to Canberra. Went to the Parliament House. Cant appreciate the Parliament House and Canberra too, haha! Canberra is a sad sad place, it's so quiet and seriously boring!! Cant imagine staying there. Knew Canberra's city quite a bit coz we went in rounds on the bridge for a few times. The same route, got lost with the GPS. Very funny I must say. Had a early dinner before driving to Syd. After a long long drive, finally reached Jason's place. A rather big place for 1 person. Only bad point was there was only 1 toilet. It's ok for him alone, but not gd when there were addition of 11 other ppl. Dont know who came up with the idea of timing everyone's showering time. The fastest to finish showering will choose when they want to use the toilet the next day. It didnt happen, but ppl did shower a lot faster with timing. The ideas ppl come up with when they are bored, haha..
Day 3 (Sat) Charles and Xiaoxi arrived. Went fish market to have brunch. We split up into different tables so it's easier to order food. Charles, Xiaoxi, Timo, my bro and I were together. We were so silly and didnt heed the advice of wise man - Pang. We ordered food which he particularly said not to get. He said get fresh oysters, we got baked ones. He said not to get platter, we got a platter. He didnt ask us to get crabs, we got crabs. In the end, realised he was right, those food were not that gd. We had to get a 2nd round. Fresh oysters was yum, the prawns were very gd too. Had such a fulfilling lunch. Forgot what else we did after that, think we went Manly Beach, cant rem much. It's a nice town. More peaceful than the city itself. Dinner was at Pancakes on the Rocks. A very expensive dinner.
Day 4 (Sun) Sermon at Jason's place by Chris Chia (Ping Han). Haha, of coz not. Took a ferry from Jason's place to Circular Quay. Had lunch at Woolloomooloo (I called it Ulu ulu). Some take away place well known for their hotdogs and pies. Had such a long walk from Opera Hse thru the Botanic Gdns before finally reaching that place. Had steamboat dinner. Food was gd, but the chilli soup base gave some of us bad stomachache. Imagine 1 toilet for 13 ppl!!! Gd thing was not all of us had stomachache. The following morning was quite a chaos. Wanted to have a sleep in, but woke up even earlier.
Day 5 (Mon) Shopping day! Went arnd city and shop and shop and shop. Although the shops are similar, but still got quite a lot of things. The fashion is better than Melb. Walked arnd so much. Had dinner with family friends at this Korean restaurant. The rest 'so happen' to be there too. Walked arnd Darling Harbour after dinner, wanted to sit down somewhere but the place was close. Walked to Star City, Syd's casino, nothing much there, so walked back to DH to have ice-cream. Such a long night.
Day 6 (Tue) Cant go anywhere, coz we had to luggages. So all of us had a sleep in. Had Dominoes for lunch before going to the airport. Havent flown in a budget airplane before. First time flying VirginBlue. The plane is so tiny compared to the normal planes (3 X4 X 3). Budget only has 3 X 3 seats. Back in Melb in the evening and had dinner with Toh Sin and Dot.
Conclusion, Syd. trip was very gd, lots of eating I must say. Pics maybe in facebook, wait for ppl to upload. Syd is a nice place to go visit, but not for staying I feel. Melb is so much better. Quieter and more peaceful. Gold Coast/Brisbane next yr! Been spending money like water flowing, tsk.
--- Today finally had a long long rest after the trip. Went out to get Shake's bday present then dinner at Old Kingdom. Peking duck. Nice but slightly pricey. Good fellowship. Some came over to play cards. I was tired, so came up for a rest. More things going on tml. Ski trip Fri to Sun. Tiring!! Why am I exhausting myself out during holidays??
--- Anyway resisted checking results during Syd. trip. Afraid I'll do badly and not in the mood to play. It was better than expected. Really thank God!! Got offer to change my major. So got to look thru that again. I will study harder next sem.
July Camp came and went. Nice campsite with indoor bball court. Studied the book of Daniel. Thought it was quite a hard book to read on my own. It wasnt that difficult after the msg and BS. In a nice BS grp. Haha Xiaoxi said I have limited choice of words, coz I irritated her a lot during camp. LOL! Guess she is right. In a short para, the sum up of the camp is just 1 word, nice. Lost the ability to write. My brain hurts from thinking....
I am feeling so disorientated atm. Havent recovered from camp. Both Shake and I are coughing like crazy. It is so irritating, I mean the itching of the throat. Hope we get well before going to Syd.
It feels like holiday's going to be over soon. Results are coming out soon too. So worried abt it =(
Heard that grandparents' hse in Msia got broken into. Just realised my yearbooks are all in the hse. Hopefully they are still there =( Yup dont think there are any valuables in the hse anyway since nobody stayed there for so long. Stupid burglars!
My life is an open book.
Loves God, family n friends.
I thank God for his grace shown to me all these years, placing great friends in my life =)
