Such a hot hot day again. The rooms upstairs are extremely hot, like sauna/greenhouse. Can even boil eggs in there. Arrived back in Melb on Sat. It felt really strange to be back in a familiar yet unfamiliar place. Everything in the house felt weird. The way the tap works is different, the bathroom sink is lower, have to settle own meal. Haha..Settling well now already, just that it's too hot. Walk to steps and you will sweat. Have to go to the bank but cant step out of house, scared i will melt in the sun. Tml will be a better day. Cant wait for cooler weather. Winter come quickly!!
Hmm...some pics from hols back at home.
1K Gathering 26th Dec 13 out of 41 turned up. Not too bad.

2 youngest cousins from father's side. Looks like old ah ma next to them.
Very long post, this is what happens when I dont know what to update and suddenly a lot of inspiration gushed in like tidal wave.
-- Hmm..it's the time of the yr again, returning to Melb. Guess too much of smthing isnt gd, must be once in a while then will appreciate it more. If I stayed in Sg the whole time, I would be erm..dont know, not too happy too. So just a couple of mths spent with family and friends is gd enough, much luckier than some who dont get the chance to have long holiday. That will be me in a couple of yrs I think. Hopefully by then I will be actively working instead of wasting my life away. Ok let me look forward to returning to independent life again....not =(
Had quite a gd time during CNY back in Msia. Clever bro left the camera memory card in his laptop, so we brought back a empty camera. How smart. Such a pity couldnt take pics of the fireworks on the eve of CNY and when the clock struck 12. Seemed to have more fireworks than previous yrs. Ppl must be richer. Police didnt come around this time. Apparently police came last yr and confiscated the boxes of fireworks and firecrackers. We spent CNY in Melb last yr, so missed the "show", haha..That's one of the things I love abt CNY in Msia, fireworks. In Sg, "gahmen" only allow fireworks on the first day of new yr, and maybe last day (??) and they had to be tested lah, lit lah, blah blah blah by professionals. In Msia, it's free and easy, haha. But think I am too old to play with firecrackers, only stood one side and watched the chn play. This time spent new yr with mother's side of family, father's side only 1 aunt came back, uncle's family in KL, other aunt with her family but came to visit.
I rem enjoying CNY a lot more when I was younger. On new yr eve, my bros and I would be in sch for half-day then dad will pick us up and drive back to Msia for reunion dinner. It felt gd to see relatives once a yr. Now it's so quiet back at my late grandparents' hse. No more little chn running around and sweaty all over and no more chn playing card games and more more chn "bai nian" to elders. But got to experience something close to this at my grandma's hse. Older cousins with their own family coming back to visit. Played with their chn, going to a cafe which is 20 steps away to sit around, and learning new card games, which till now I still dont understand, haha..On the last night in Msia, went back in to visit other aunt. My little cousins are so tiny and skinny, all bones no flesh, the youngest is 8, but she looks 5. Overall, had an enjoyable time with all my relatives.
-- Some last min meeting up this last wk before I fly off. Mon, met up up with a few more of 1K classmates. Had dinner at Bombay cafe which was right outside our sec sch. So it was like going back to sch once again. Reached there and was earlier than rest, waited for a while HX and WS came. Took a walk back into sch. It was a nostalgic walk back in. Remembering the huge houses and the walk ways. Saw the sch from the outside. Still as cheena as ever, but I love my sch, haha. Walked back out and went to the cafe. It's Indian vegetarian. All of us stared at the menu for a long time and dont know what to order. Had this waiter with very strong Indian accent, asked him qns and couldnt understand him. He had to call another waiter to serve us. HX helped me order a burger, she ordered a sizzler set meant for 2, so I suggested we share. She forgot to cancel my order, so when my burger came, both of us were like "die lah, how to finish". Coz we ordered dessert and drinks. Our very kind friends laughed at us, but the guys did help us. Took pics as usual. The guys were amazed at how we can take so many pics.
-- Had dinner at Astons with UB yest. There is always a queue. Did not wait too long though. Very very gd dinner. I had a black pepper chicken with 2 coleslaw and french fries as side dishes for only $5.90. UB had some beef thing. The sauce was gd, but personally I dont fancy beef, so i did not miss much. very satisfying meal. Walked over to HK cafe to sit sit talk talk. Only yest I found out there are so many nice eating places on Joo Chiat. In the east, so embarrassing, a west person had to bring me around in the east. Meat lovers go try Astons if you havent tried before. Cheap and gd. Nope they didnt pay me anything for promoting this, haha..
-- For such a long post, will post some pics to make up for it. Ok byebye going down to shoot shoot some bball before all the sch kids come. Go for a swim too maybe.
Been slacking arnd quite a lot these few days. Aunt came from Seattle early Sat morning. Brought a lot of things over including my fav chips - Tim's Cascade chips. Last had that was 3 yrs ago when we went there for a visit. Red rock sweet chilli is the next best substitute, haha...
Went out with family and aunt to have Jap food. Brothers ordered too much food, esp older bro. As if he hadn't eaten for days and as if the food was free. Crazy. But the sushi was not bad. Oh well, quality time spent with family. Attended a wedding that night too. It was my mum's cousin's daughter's wedding. Really some long long long distance relations. Somewhat awkward dinner. 98% unfamiliar faces. There were other long distance relatives, mum was explaining how they are related to us. Dont even know how to address these ppl. Just a smile and a nod would do. Half the time, my bro and I were figuring out who was who and whether we would meet anyone we know at the dinner. Unfortunately not. Tried to keep each other entertained and kept myself busy with sms-es, so no need to talk much to the ppl at the table, who are very interested in my bro, LOL!! Okok, very interested in what he's doing, not literally interested. Well maybe, but they are of an older generation, haha!! They would be like "Oh wow so big already ah," then all those usual stuff blah blah blah. Food was gd, dessert was a little disappointing, thought would be some western dessert, but it was chinese dessert.
So many of my friends getting married and engaged. Slightly early for some, my opinion lah...Too young. Would never image myself getting married at such a young age. Open my eyes in the morning and staring at someone beside you for the rest of my life. Hmm, no no, at least not so soon. Scary. Like what I told a couple of my friends, maybe in 10 yrs time I will have that committment. One more negative thing abt marriage is your status would be "aunty" or "uncle" straight away no matter how young you are. No more "jie jies" or "gor gors", hahahaha!! But happy for my friends who are getting married. Very exciting things happening.
--- Sun 3rd Feb
Everyone gone to bed. I am the only one lying on the sofa typing away. Some snoring here and there, neighbours talking can be heard from the airwell, occassional cars passing by. Havent had that peace for a long long time. Love it. Got a feeling mum would come out to nag at me to go slp very soon. Haiz, mum's temper...Argh...I feel like I am being attacked by insects. Opps off-topic. I am still hoping to get the Sony Vaio. It's Vista though. Got a feeling my Benq is not going to last me till the end of the yr. Oh we'll see abt it. That's my dad's response I am guessing.
Mum just came out to nag. I can predict the future!! Thank you. Better go off before she comes out a 2nd time, arghhhhhhhh......
My life is an open book.
Loves God, family n friends.
I thank God for his grace shown to me all these years, placing great friends in my life =)
