Last day of 2007. Many things to thank God for. God has been seeing me thru this yr, so many ups and downs, but God is always faithful. The list below is not exhaustive, but it shows God is always there for me. Thank God for:
1) Providing my bro and I with a place to stay early this yr when we went over Melb homeless/helpless/worried.
2) Providing us with a beautiful house in March after many months of searching and apartment viewings. Almost wanted to give up and find 2 rooms to squeeze 4 ppl. But everything worked out in the end. Even had a wonderful neighbour!!
3) Providing me with fantastic housemates!! Many fun times together, all the silly and unglam things we did which cannot be shown to the ppl outside. Cant ask for better housemates.
4) Providing me with new friendships this yr and strengthening friendships.
5) Providing me with casual jobs. Some jobs which I enjoyed a lot, but some which made me have second thoughts abt working with chn. Overall, these jobs made me grow. Learnt a lot from the different centres and ppl. Met different ppl and had a feel of earning own money. Hard earned money. The feeling of seeing money increasing in my bank is exhilarating.
6) Seeing me thru my PR application. Many times, since last yr, I thought I had no hope of getting PR, but many ppl prayed for me. The process wasnt smooth sailing, but I got my PR eventually =)
7) Seeing me thru my driving lessons and got my licence recently on 4th Sept.
8) Guiding me in my decision of continuing my studies next yr. Hopefully I made the right choice, still very worried right now, but I know I can put my trust in Him.
Will continue with resolutions next day. Goodnight!
It was funny how a bunch of us missed service this morning. Wanted to visit ARPC, but there was no service. Wanted to go for the chinese service next door, but too late. Went Taka Crystal Jade for lunch instead. Very gd food, much more worthed it than yest's dinner. Toh Sin, RenHaw and Jamie came down for a visit. Lydia Lee was there today too. Funny incidents, seriously can ROFL!! Topics which can make you roll eyes and exhale. Thanks Jon for keeping Lydia so entertained and confused! Kick you ah!
Been going out a lot, like maybe almost everyday. Spending lots of money. Speaking of that, spent $33 on dinner last night. Waiter intro a dish to us which cost $42!!! Their signature dish, he said "very nice" in strong Indian accent. It was nice, but not worthed the money. Other dishes cost abt $17 and the portion was tiny too. We wanted to throw the waiters down the river for introducing such fantastic food to us. Not only that, had thoughts of burning the place down too, LOL!!! Lesson learnt: Never go to places which cheat tourists. Haha!!
OCF gathering at Jon Lai's place 18th Dec 07 with UB and the balloons made by Barbara. UB's flower and my heart candy cane. Very nice!
Lai-dia, Peipei, Kathryn.
The guys, such posers =p
OCF gathering in Spore. Thanks Jon for opening your house =) Had a gd time eating, catching up, playing pictionary and getting wet. Yup almost all the guys got thrown into the pool, except Charles and Roy and of coz Sam (precious camera on him). Good for them. They should get wet!! Haha =D Some girls got thrown too. I almost went in, but didnt bring extra clothings, so they cant throw me in =p Poor girls who got thrown in. Rachelle went in so willingly, funny! Did not take many pics. I have more Rachelle and Daniel pics than other photos! My pics are lousy, no flash so blur. Erm UB send pics!!
1K class gathering 26th Dec 07 Longest pal.
Fooyi, Wanli, Chuxian. Nope, the giant Gardenia bread is not for us.
Letian, Clement.
Melb ppl.
Annual 1K class gathering organised by Huixian and Huimin. More turned up this yr. Havent seen some since Sec 1. It seems like they changed, but again seems like they havent. Maybe just havent seen them for a long time. Felt strange initially. Had dinner at Fish & Co. and dessert at NYDC (again). Took lots of photos again. Waiting for HX to compile them. Thanks for everything!!
DHL hot air balloon 27th Dec 07 View from the DHL balloon. Buildings all around.
Next day went Bugis there to take the DHL hot air balloon with HX, WL and HJ. It was a gd experience, but it was so expensive!! $23 for 7 mins. Very windy up there, prob the only nice thing. View wasnt that fantastic. Can only see buildings all around. Well what to expect from a tiny country like Spore, haha.
Meeting with Jess
Finally got to meet up with Jess after almost 1 yr. Had a rather expensive Italian dinner at Paragon treated by Jess. Walked around with her to look for dress for her sis wedding. So many ppl around are getting married!! Been hearing almost 10 weddings since I come back. No luck. Walked out of paragon and Jess decided to do a portrait drawing. When she sat down to get her drawing done, the family who did the drawing before us, wanted to take picture with her. Individual shots somemore. Jess clarified with them she's not any celebrity, so funny!!! Well, what to do, so pretty if dont take pic wasted.
Malaysia Trip 272 steps to the top of Batu Caves. Such steep steps.
View from up there. Better than the Hot Air Balloon, haha!
Genting.
Caroling at the hotel lobby.
With little cousin, not so little after all.
Foggy morning.
Interesting menu 1.
Interesting menu 2.
My lunch - called some "dog", "chicken" thing. It has a more glam name, but I cant rem.
Dessert at Langkawi Island, some coconut ice-cream thing.
yup MIA for quite some time. back from melb for 1 wk already. flight back from melb was quite smooth, landing was fantastic. watched Ratatouille and No Reservations on board. both also abt food. No Reservations is a gd movie, i liked it. had hiccup at Melb airport, apparently each of us only had 20kg, not like the 40kg + 20kg like we thought. we had too much stuff, thank God for kind ppl there. we checked in some things with them.
went msia last mon, just came back this evening. had a roadtrip around msia with family and relatives. went to almost the same places we went 2 yrs ago. went Genting, Penang, Langkawi. everything was a little disappointing this time round. basically did nothing at Genting. couldnt get rooms there, 2 families had to squeeze in a room. gd thing the room was big. had a nice dinner of jap food at Sushi King. it was cold and very misty at Genting. very nice weather. next morning, proceeded to Penang (just before Penang actually). cant rem what we did there, should be nothing interesting. watched TV in the hotel room. drove to Alor Star then took a ferry to Langkawi. Langkawi wasnt as how i imagined. i thought there are a lot of beautiful beaches, but didnt see any beaches around. very rural, more rural than the kampung we always return to when we go back msia. haha. stayed in a rather bad condition-though-it-looked-nice-from-the-outside hotel. forgot the name of the hotel, but it has the longest swimming pool in msia (or smthing, cant rem too). drove around the island to find things to do. came to this very beautiful resort. $1500/night. spent some time there at the beach, seeing the rich ppl relaxing and swimming. the hotel we staying is a far far cry from the resort. watched Harry Potter 2 on TV. next morning shopped a bit at the mall before taking the ferry back. from there, uncle drove all the way from Alor Star back to Yong Peng (one end of Msia to then other). it was a 10-hr drive with lunch and dinner stops. whole journey back was eating in car, sleeping, went down for meals, came back sleep, eat and sleep. tiring trip back. ate so much, i am sure i gained like 2 kg on this trip. after that, accompanied grandma back at YP and visited other relatives. although trip was slightly disappointing, but really enjoyed the time spent with family =)
had a hair-cut too. shortest i ever had. my head feels so much lighter =D
little girl, very sorry to hear the sad news. ur posts brought tears to my eyes. sorry cant be there for you, but like i said, luckily newly crowned BLUR shake is around with you. i am glad you are feeling better.
Ah Dot looked really pretty that day. Hair and make-up by sheik.com
Look at the bear in Andrew's arms. We asked him if he was carrying a child, he purposely held it in a even more obvious manner and took a pic. Hint hint Dot, heh ;)
i survived convention!! LOL!! well, it wasnt as bad as i imagined. i worry too much. i did not make much effort in meeting other ppl other than our own carlton ppl and BS grp members. my bad. i really enjoyed my BS grp. i thought last yr's was gd, but this yr's even better. most of us were from different centres. they are a bunch of matured christians. learnt so much from them. i really thank God for this BS grp. it was rather enjoyable but seriously tiring with 5 full days of learning.
some pics from own cam. still waiting for other pics...post other pics when they come in...
Taking grp pic on the last day. Irritating flies all around.
Last worship session - OCF Adelaide.
My angel. Let me tell the story of my angel. When we arrived and went to register. Shake had to pay the remainder of the camp fee, she didnt have enough, so paid for her. It was quite chaotic, a lot of ppl, at the same time we had to see which grp and which bunk and who our mortal were. When my dear hsemate received a slip of paper with her name and my name on it, she spoke out loudly, "How come got ur name here?" Grace was also standing there, both of our faces looked like this --> =_=" Literally sweat. HAHAHA!! This was how I found out who my angel was on the first day when we arrived. After that had kept suan-ing abt her stupidness. Well, my angel was gd to me. She bought me a book to shut me up, coz me, as her mortal, kept complaining my angel didnt do anything for me =p
Playing Uno on the last night. Squatting there like some illegal gamblers, esp Shake. Covering her face, not wanting to be caught on cam.
Having fun...or not?? So unglam all of us.
Ohh, poor things, these 3 stick-thin girls have no food. Need to contact the Compassion ppl to get sponsors to feed them.
Picture to send to sponsors. Sponsor them anyone??
The fantastic members in my grp called Nose. Named the ppl in my grp, just in case I forget their names. A little reminder for myself.... Girls - Cecilia (Caufield), Sher Ri (Adelaide), me, Phoebe (Griffin), Andrea (Parkville, not in pic) Guys - Ken (Uni SA), Kah Wai (Adelaide), John (Parkville), Boon Pin (Uni SA), Jeremy (Murdoch)
More pics by the lake. Flap flap flapping the flies. Hate them!!
Better pic. Beautiful sunny day, can hardly open our eyes.
Lydea, also from Sg, wants to take pic with all the siblings in the camp, so this is a pic of me and the brother.
My BS leader. Very faithful to God's words. Likes to tell stories and ask "So do you all know the moral of the story?" Reminded us of Tan Ah Teck in Under one roof. LOL =D
Didnt get to take pics with grp members, coz bro. holding on to cam. Only one other pic...
ahh..it feels great with the cool wind blowing. the past few days was great. the weather was wonderful. not too hot not too cold. much better than spore weather i would say. the only thing i am not looking forward to back in spore.
hmm...so many mentions of CYY. nope, we dont miss her that much. we are just jealous she is having fun back in Msia or Paris or wherever she is now =p we too are having fun here. right now shake and i are sitting on the couch comfortably watching The Island. we have way too much time on our hands, haha!!
i've finally got reply from Melb Uni regarding my application after exactly 10 working days. yup now got to really really consider if i shld take up the offer. dad says is up to me. guess i can loan from the govt. for my next 2 yrs of studies. hopefully after the next 2 yes, i will be able to settle to look for job and work like every normal human being.
letter from Melb Uni came after 10 days. our birks havent arrived after 3 wks!! we paid for airmail and not surface mailing. losing patience.
off to finish up the movie. another 1 hr of it to go....
My life is an open book.
Loves God, family n friends.
I thank God for his grace shown to me all these years, placing great friends in my life =)
