handed in indigenous assignments yest. did work till the last min, as usual...had a little catching up session with lee-ean n jess after that. had lunch at oriental spoon. the food there is pretty gd. anyway it felt really gd to finish the assignments. still have got one more huge assignment due on the same day as my only paper. went back to visit the kids this morning. great seeing them again. i really missed them. i missed their hugs. oscar came in this morning and gave me a big hug. parents / grandma who dropped their children off were surprised to see me. heh. i guess the children were surprised too. they all asked the same qn, 'i thought you left on friday?' it followed by, 'are you staying for the whole day?' i said no, then they said, 'why cant you stay? i want you to stay forever.' aww...so sweet of them. i was thinking coz i am easier to manipulate, haha.. they are afraid, or rather, have more respect for lisa. haha din get to spend much time with them, coz i only stayed for the morning and they had swimming lesson. helped out with the literacy. it felt a little strange, coz haven seen them for a wk. not sure if i would be going back in again. been slacking for the whole day. haven felt like this for a long long time. had a fantastic dream abt my family. i miss them.
it feels like holiday, but unfortunately it is far from it. it is the mugging period. how fun. everyone would be studying or trying to study. conversation topics would revolve around exams and assignments. argh, pls let this dreaded period be over soon. i am officially sick of indigenous studies. all the journal questions making me sick. i need help on answering the qns!!
first day back in uni after so long feels weird. it feels weird not waking up at 7 and catching the 7.45 tram and reaching the sch at 8.30. it feels weird not seeing the kids and tying their shoelaces (LOL!!). it feels weird without the children coming up to me waving their finished work, asking me what shld they do with it when i told them a million times to paste it in their book. it feels so gd that you can just call out to them to pick up pieces of paper, texta, pencils on the floor without having to do them ourselves. it also feels so gd threatening to keep them in during recess if they are noisy. muahahaha...miss those children!!! i am missing richard, oscar, lachlan, emma, alicha, the 2 james.
anyway received news from jess yest that our indigenous assignments are due during our tutes instead of on 22nd as stated on the web. like lee-ean, i became so slack. apparently those tutors juz added in more qns for our journals, how irresponsible. have to ask for extension.
ended my best ever placement yest. sad to leave there. so used to the routine and everything. oh well, all good things must come to an end. this is the only time i enjoyed my placement without waking up in the mornings having the dreading-to-go feeling. if only i can work in a sch liddat next time, opps, which is next yr. side track a bit, i think the children in the sch are very wealthy, my teacher was telling me the other day that one of the boy's father owns a diamond or gold mine. my jaws just dropped. and a lot of the teachers in the sch has children in the same sch. i just decided i have a fav kid in class. he is such a sweet little boy who is so quiet and would be lost in the sea of children if he doesnt speak. i was helping this other child with his work the other day and when he was done, he turned around and hugged me. after that he asked if i had a favourite kid in class. of coz i said no. but he carried on asking who my favourite kid was. well i had been helping him a lot in his work coz he needs lot of assistance, guess he mistakened that i have a fav kid. haha. hmm...talking a lot abt the children, but what to do, that's what's happening in my life now. unless ppl out there wants to read abt indigenous. haha, not that i know anything about it. argh, speaking of that, have to start reading up books for indigenous which is due on mon!!! no-brainers no brainers!!
children having morning meeting. it is a time for them to share information with the other children. my supervising teacher at the background. i think she is beautiful and doesnt look a day older than 30 (my opinion lah), but she is 40. kids are adorable too. are they not??
i simply love their uniform. they come in all styles. they look so smart with their blazers (din post a pic with their blazers on). they have summer and winter uniforms. we had to wear the same uniform for 6 years in pri sch and 4 years in sec sch. how boring. hmm...because this sch where i had my placement has students from kinder to year 12, so they got to wear the uniforms for 12 years, i guess that makes up for it. hahaha...
things i do when i am bored and stressed....very random pictures, hahaha....
my table is in a mess!!!
lesson plans for next wk
vbs song for tml's sunday sch....
a lot of things to be done!! alwayz complaining, but what to do?? getting worried abt indigeous essay and journal which is due right after prac and i am not done!!! full control of class next wk. another thing to worry abt. but lisa is very nice and supportive, so hopefully everything will be well. let the children be angels next wk pls, hahahaha.... oh they made mother's day pots. turned out to be great work. what they did reminded me of what we used to make in pri sch. alwayz made mother's day cards. opps, juz called back, but forgot to wish my mum happy mother's day. oh well, doesnt matter, not a tradition for my family to celebrate mother's day anyway.....
exhausted exhausted exhausted...one more day tml before the weekends. next wk will be worse. dun want to think abt it. even thinking makes me tired. teaching life is so tiring, dont know how i can cope with it next time. lots of plannings to do. sigh, this is life i guess...
raining these few days. my jeans always so wet. it was a long long day yesterday. but it was really exciting. had a great time in placement once again. art day was fantastic. children were divided into the 20 different groups to make structures to hang arnd the sch. i helped lisa, my supervising teacher, with her grp (prep to grade 6), which was 'wood on wood on wood'. well, basically the children put pieces of wood together and in the end they put all of it together to make a thing. the children said it was 'a devil driving the time machine'. must be those grade 6 boys who thought of it. the other grp's turned out to be really gd as well. will bring in my camera on mon to tk all those beautiful art work.
ocf had its first ever auction for july camp fundraising. it was very successful!! doubled what we budgeted for. did not expect the bids to be that high. praise god!! i think the highest individual bid was $140 for grace ping. poor her got to clean house, not once, but twice. hahaha..and the highest grp bid should be $180 for toh sin. cant really rem, was so tired yest....
fun stuff aside, got to get on with assignments. assignments due during our placement and right after placement. what is this, where do we find the extra time to do them?? we dont hv 50 hours a day. nv use brains. opps...
been extremely busy for the past few days. and poor me is sick. much better now though. so stressed with things that i cant take a proper rest. rushing here and there. anyway, caught 'inside man' 2 days ago. rather gd thinking movie. anyway the uni supervisor came in this morning to see us in action. i dont understand how uni can just send in a random person to sit in the class for 15 mins and know how we fair. though the person will not be giving us the final grade, it is still not very nice. my feelings lah. and it is really weird coz this time the uni supervisor did not look in my folder at all. must be my prayers, heh!! coz i haven done the competencies and all those stuff that's supposed to be in there. good thing she didn't check it. well, she just sat there to see how i teach and after that gave some feedback. oh well, it's done for now, no need to worry abt uni supervisors.
one child did some colouring for me and she wrote 'for mies chiewear'. guess what that spells??
ans: 'for miss chua'.
haha, it is hilarious how children think and so cute to see all the words that the children sound out to spell it. i did an activity with the children today and asked them 'what makes it an animal?' some of their answers were 'God made them and it is part of nature' or 'it is special'. i was like 'hmm...ok.' technically they are not wrong, so i left the answers as they were. last wk i got the children to draw their favourite animal. the children came up with animals like dromedary, meerkat, tapir. i have no idea what a dromedary or meerkat is. they had to explain to me. goodness me, they are 7-year-olds!! the kids are fun, i love the kids (most of them, hah). there is one really disorganized kid. he would pack his bag outside, leaves it there and comes into the classroom. when asked where his bag was, he was like 'don't know'. hahaha...tml the junior sch will be having art day, which means having art the whole day. woohoo, for me. no lessons to take. ok will stop my essay here for now. more funny incidents with children ltr on...
My life is an open book.
Loves God, family n friends.
I thank God for his grace shown to me all these years, placing great friends in my life =)
